UPDATE: The body recovered from the Tennessee River near Moccasin Bend has been identified as 42-year-old Adam Jones of Sequatchie County, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency announced.

TWRA said Jones was reported missing by his family earlier in the week after not returning from a fishing trip.

During the fishing trip, Jones dropped off a friend to look for artifacts along the bank. Jones didn't return to pick up his friend.

Jones' body was located Wednesday evening and recovered by TWRA officers, Chattanooga Fire Department, Hamilton County Marine Rescue, and Chattanooga Police Department. His body was taken to the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s office.

TWRA said a boat found adrift near the Baylor School on Tuesday is not currently linked to this event.
